2011 Dusty Days and Starry Nights iPad Project

In 2010, the Sid Richardson Museum (SRM) launched a pilot program for video on the iPad.  This year, SRM intends to purchase an additional iPad to continue development and implementation of the handheld device for use as a gallery guide for select paintings. A lightweight digital camera will also be purchased to document the use of the product and to provide images for Educational projects, as needed. The significance of this project for art education is that the mobile hand-held device will offer all audiences, specifically families and younger audiences, a new format for thoughtful and visual exploration of topics relevant to artworks. The iPad project will continue to support interdisciplinary thought on art as it is a digital media form of motivation for thoughtfully exploring and understanding the context of selected artworks.
