The Grace Museum

iPads in the Galleries

The Grace Museum is currently using emerging technology to inform and educate the public about art, history and science through its website and distance learning programs, and endeavors to embrace new ways to communicate with audiences. Now with a growing number of videos produced in house, they want to use those and other images and videos to enhance their docent program.  The purchase of two iPads enable the delivery of rich, digital media to enhance the gallery tours.  They plan to create Keynote presentations that will assist the docents with talking points throughout the gallery but to also be able to show images that are related to the exhibition or videos of the artist talk or of the artist working in their studio creating their works.   Additionally, they will use the iPads to “take the exhibition to the schools” through our ongoing outreach program where we serve about 2500 students in a two month period of time.
