Sid Richardson Museum
The people of Native American bison culture are portrayed in several notable paintings in the Sid Richardson Museum collection. Works by Herbert M. Herget, illustrator for National Geographic Society during the 1930s â1940s, are featured in this presentation which focuses on the American Indian Plains Culture. Regalia worn by the American Plains Indians, their relationship to the buffalo, and the importance of the hunt is explored in depth in the site. The artworks serve as a springboard for reflection, discussion and inspiration about aspects of culture, regalia and historical events.
