Touch Screens in the Art Loft

This 2011 equipment award supported the purchase of two Dell Touch Screen desktop computers for the Arthouse Ozburn Family Loft. By installing two touch screen computers in the Loft, Arthouse provides visitors another tool with which to understand and delve into the world of contemporary art and more information about Arthouse exhibitions and programs. Since reopening in October 2010 and launching a redesigned website, the variety of artwork and programming presented provides significant content for computers in the Loft. The Ozburn Family Loft overlooks the main second-floor gallery and is a space that contains exhibition catalogs, art magazines, background on exhibiting artists, and information about other art and cultural organizations in Austin. The new computers connect to Arthouse’s dynamic website and provide a rich variety of content for visitors, including video interviews with exhibiting artists, lectures recorded as part of Arthouse’s Visiting Lecturer Series, and images and commentary related to current and previous exhibitions.
