San Antonio Museum of Art

The San Antonio Museum of Art houses an encyclopedic collection of important pieces in the areas of Western antiquities, Asian art, Latin American art, and contemporary American paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts. The museum’s holdings also include Oceanic art, Islamic art, Irish silver, Wedgwood ceramics, European paintings, and photography. Using these collections as a starting point, the Education department at SAMA provides a unique educational experience that enhances visual and cultural literacy, expands a repertoire of ideas, and heightens understanding and respect for diverse human populations.
