More on the 2011 Horizon Report>Museum Edition

Howdy all,

Now that the Thanksgiving Holidays are ’bout over here in the U.S. and I can step away from the stove and step over to the keyboard, I’d like to claim a little of your attention for the 2011 Horizon Report>Museum Edition.

The report launched at MCN 2011 in Atlanta in a well-attended Friday afternoon plenary.  I’d like to offer a rousing three cheers for Nancy Proctor and the MCN Program Team and my thanks to the Horizon Report panelists who spoke so eloquently on technologies identified in this year’s report:  Liz Neely, Rich Cherry, Scott Sayre, Koven Smith, and Rachel Varon.  Meanwhile as 2011 draws quickly to a close I thought it would be nice to spend some time over the next few weeks introducing you to what’s new in this year’s report.  In the coming weeks I’ll be discussing the challenges and the trends and then we will start the New Year right with a review of the six technologies to watch and introduce you to some of the outstanding projects out there.

If  you want to get a little bit of an intro ahead of time and save your reading for the New Year,  the lovely folk at NMC proper have created a video to give you the bits and bobs that are necessary.

In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving leftovers (for those of you in North America) and watch this space.
